Once in a while I feel like trying out a new technique and something I have wanted to learn for a long time is wetfelting. And especially hollow felt like this little egg shaped cradle. Thre are some great tutorials on the internet, one that I found very useful is this one : http://twigandtoadstool.blogspot.nl/2011/03/wet-felting-cradle-for-our-blossom-baby.html on a different site I found a tip to use an old panty to put your egg covered with wool in and it works really well. You basically need an egg shaped base, wool roving, soap and hot and cold water. It is reallly fun to do and very relaxing. Now I had to make a little baby for the bed of course so I made a tiny version of the cuddle doll I sometimes make for new born babies.

We had two little friends to stay over the weekend, maybe you remember them, I made them a while ago for two little sisters. They needed a little hair makeover after an unfortunate haircut : ) but we loved having them back for a few days. We had a lovely teaparty with cakes and we read lots of little books. But just tonight the little girls were feeling a little homesick and asked me when they were going home to their real mommies. So I told them they were only staying one more night and I will send them home tomorrow…
We hadden twee kleine meisjes te logeren afgelopen weekend, misschien herinneren jullie deze twee nog wel, ik heb ze al een tijd geleden gemaakt voor twee zusjes. Na een ongelukje bij de kapper hadden ze een kleine makeover nodig : ). Het was heerlijk om ze weer even hier te hebben, we hebben thee gedronken met taart en heel veel boekjes gelezen. Maar vanavond vroegen de meisjes met een dun stemmetje wanneer ze weer naar hun eigen huis gingen, ze misten hun echte mama’s. Dus vertelde ik ze dat ze nog één nachtje blijven slapen en dan gaan ze weer naar huis…

Deze popjes heb ik gemaakt voor Anna voor haar eerste verjaardag, heel onverwacht kwam de oma van Anna ook met een antroposofische pop als verrassing. Omdat drie poppen wel wat veel is voor een kleine dame is het blauwe popje nu te koop in mijn webshop. (zie volgende bericht)
These two dolls I made for Anna for her first birthday. Very unexpectedly the grandmother of Anna came with a big surprise: a Waldorf doll. Since three dolls is a bit much for one birthday the blue doll is now available from my webshop. (see next mesaage)

Dit jaar heb ik een aantal opdrachten van een wel heel bijzonder persoon : Sint Nicolaas. Het moge duidelijk zijn dat de goedheiligman het veel te druk heeft om rechtstreeks met mij te mailen, maar diverse pieten verdeeld over het land sturen mij de details over hoe de poppen er uit moeten zien. Ik heb natuurlijk volledige geheimhoudingsplicht en het versturen van de pakjes moet naar speciaal geselecteerde geheime verzamelpunten. Maar wie weet als je dit jaar lief bent geweest en je hebt een pop op je verlanglijstje staan krijg je misschien dit jaar wel een popje zoals bijvoorbeeld dit roze kindje…
This year I received a custom order from a very special person : St. Nicolas himself. It will be clear that St. Nicolas is far to busy these days to contact me directly so he has got helpers all over the country who mail me the details about the dolls I am making. I was sworn to secrecy and have to ship the parcels to secret addresses. But who knows if you were really good this year and you have a doll on your wishlist maybe St. Nicolas will bring you a doll like this little pink girl…

Zusterliefde, zo bijzonder… Voor twee zusjes die erg op elkaar lijken heb ik deze twee meisjes gemaakt.

Psst, zal ik je een geheimpje vertellen, binnenkort gaan we op reis naar een kinderdagverblijf waar heel veel kinderen zijn om mee te spelen ! Ze kunnen bijna niet wachten, maar wij zijn wel blij dat ze nog heel even bij ons blijven…
Psst, I will tell you a secret, soon we will go to our new home: a nursery with lots of children to play with ! They can hardly wait, but we are glad they will stay a few days with us…

Dit zijn Rosa (bruin haar) en Flora (blond), ze zijn dol op honden en vooral dit hondje. Ze willen hem de hele dag knuffelen en met hem wandelen in het park. Beide popjes zijn in opdracht gemaakt.
Meet Rosa (brown hair) and Flora (blonde) they love dogs and especially this one. They want to cuddle him all day and take him for walks in the park. Both dolls are custom made.
